Once upon a time there was a girl who just knew there was something “wrong” with her

I’ve been a designer for over 20 years. After feeling it for a long, long time, I recently realized that I’ve got a pretty serious chronic illness. Instantly my life began to change and I started off on this journey of discovery.

I’m still on it today.

Since the day I found out, people have shown up for me in surprising and unexpected ways, as if I had been sprinkled with fairy dust.

Seriously, it seemed like magic.

And when I wanted to pay them back in some way, they refused, saying they did it only because they loved me, they knew I was going through a rough spot, and they wanted to be there for me.

I’ve always believed in magic and miracles but each time, it brought tears to my eyes.

I was just so blown away … and still am.

Knowing it was valuable, I offered my sterling silver jewelry to one of these special people, who replied instead,

“I’d love for you to give these to someone who would not ordinarily be able to have them.”

That day, The Jewelry Fairy was born.

I began thinking of ways that I could do the sort of thing these people were doing for me …

To give, with nothing expected in return.

That’s why you are sitting here reading this little story.

I decided that, whenever I feel inspired, I’m going to give away some of the jewelry I’ve made over the years. With love and positive intention.

I can’t say for sure why life isn’t always as smooth as we’d like it to be but I sincerely believe it’s during those times that we grow the most and discover the things that truly matter.

Including people.

Know this:

There are always people out there who love you and who would be there for you in a heartbeat, if you were to ask.

Make sure to nurture that connection and reach out to one of these people if ever you need them. As they say … you won’t be on your deathbed wishing you’d gotten one last load of laundry done or that you had spent another hour at work or made another 50 bucks.

As you move through your day,
be on the lookout for someone
to sprinkle fairy dust on
(in your own special way) …

with no expectation other than
to share a bit of magic.
