Wanna play fairy-for-a-day? Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Save the fortunes from your fortune cookies and slip one into a library book before you return it.
  • Bring in the trash cans for your neighbors while they’re at work.
  • Leave a book you love in a public place, for someone to find and enjoy.
  • Write a thank you note to your son or daughter’s teacher.
  • Tell the manager that the person who waited on you did a great job.
  • Do a chore that a loved one usually does, without being asked and without their knowing.
  • Leave a post-it note for someone you appreciate, telling them one thing that’s super-special about them.
  • Pay the toll for the person behind you in line at the tollbooth.
  • Go through your closet and give away things you no longer need.
  • Leave a potted flower on somebody’s doorstep.
  • Shovel your neighbor’s snow while they’re out at work.
  • Tell a parent something awesome their child did when they weren’t around.
  • Share a favorite quote on a slip of paper left under a rock on a park bench.
  • Leave change in a gumball machine for the next person.
  • Write a supportive comment on somebody’s blog.
  • Cheer on a child at their sporting event.
  • Leave a coupon next to an item that’s on sale.
  • Return others’ shopping carts that are scattered around the parking lot.
  • Write a note of appreciation on the check that your waiter or waitress gives you.
  • Let someone else have your parking spot
  • Leave quarters in a washing machine at the laundromat.
PSWhen leaving something for a stranger, make sure to add a little note describing what you’re doing. This way they’ll know it’s a gift and can pass on the magic when they’re feeling inspired!

I’d love to hear about them and add them to the list!
