Practicing Allowing

Image: Practicing Allowing: A random acts of kindness story

Today, for the very first time, I actually *saw* the person I left my gift for.

I had just hung the bag on the doorknob and as I was leaving, three people walked by me … a woman, a man and a girl.

For some reason, seeing the people made me wonder how they would respond to the gift.

The silly human side of me so wants them to feel surprised and happy. I mean hey, that’s the whole point right?

But I’d rather not attach to that result.

With life in general, I really believe in detaching from the outcome … doing what you feel in your  heart is best and then allowing the other person to have whatever experience they are going to have … positive, negative, neutral, whatever.

The important thing is that you follow your own inner guidance and then just allow it to unfold however it may.

And so … I hereby drop my attachment! Good thing to practice, right?

Because I had seen two women (well, a woman and a girl), momma said, “Oooh, go back and put a second bag on the door!”

To which I replied … “No, that might be weird.”

(And this isn’t? 😉 )
